Hey, welcome to Plátano Café. This little blog started because I wanted to eat better and feel more in control of my health, especially my weight. I’ve always liked food, but I was tired of feeling crummy after meals or getting stuck in cycles of restriction and regret. So I started looking into paleo and gluten-free recipes that felt more natural, and honestly, made sense.
Why “Plátano Café”?
The name has a bit of heart behind it. Plátano (plantain) is one of those foods I’ve always loved, it’s filling, comforting, and turns up in a bunch of traditional recipes. Plus, it happens to be paleo-friendly, which is a nice bonus. You’ll see it featured in lots of the dishes here.
Then there’s Café. Yeah, coffee’s great (especially when it’s clean and simple), but the word also makes me think of a cozy space where people can hang out, chat, and share ideas. That’s the vibe I wanted for this site: friendly, low-key, and welcoming.
What Plátano Café Is About
I’m not a chef or a nutritionist. I’m just someone trying to figure out how to eat in a way that feels good and sustainable. This blog is here to share what I’ve learned, especially when it comes to eating cleaner, keeping meals simple, and sticking to real ingredients that help me feel better.
One of the most surprising things I’ve learned is that I didn’t have to completely change my habits to feel better. I still snack the same number of times a day, but instead of candy or chocolate, I reach for fruit, nuts, or something simple and fresh. That small shift has made a huge difference.
On my last visit to the doctor, I found out I had lost 22 kg and, more importantly, I was in much better health overall. For me, that was proof that small, consistent changes matter more than strict rules.
Whether you’re doing paleo, avoiding gluten, or just trying to get back to basics, I hope this space helps. I’ll keep posting easy recipes, tips, and ideas that don’t feel overwhelming.
The Vibe Around Here
This isn’t about being perfect or following a strict set of rules. It’s about trying things out, figuring out what works, and enjoying food again. I keep things casual, honest, and hopefully helpful, the way I’d talk to a friend if we were figuring this out together.
Just a Simple Project
Plátano Café is a mix of personal curiosity, some photography taken by my wife, and the idea that a small, well-made blog can actually be useful. I wanted to build something helpful and down-to-earth, and maybe help a few people feel better along the way.
Thanks for stopping by. If you find a recipe you like or a tip that helps, that means a lot to me.
